The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care will provide you with an in-depth understanding of children and how to engage with them in a group care environment.

About the Course

Care for children, and help them learn about our world with a Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care. This course teaches students to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.

This course is ideal if you want to become early childhood educators responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in Early Childhood Education and Care services. You will learn how to plan learning using appropriate frameworks, support child development, understand legislation and maintain a safe environment for children, families, and staff.

This course has a practical component that requires 240 hours to be completed in a registered and licensed children’s service over the period of the qualification. Placement must occur for the full duration of the study period.

Year 11 Australian Senior High School Certificate or equivalent with full academic results

English Language

Upper-Intermediate English (equivalent to 5.5 academic IELTS)

Required Identification

Photo ID and evidence of citizenship (international students must provide copy of passport)

Computer Skills & Equipment

Basic computing skills including use of Microsoft Office programmes, in addition to hardware requirements of a portable computer with keyboard, pointing device, speaker, camera and microphone, and a broadband internet connection.

Additional Requirements

Students must be eligible to hold a Blue Card (must not have a criminal record). Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Applicants for this course must be able to make themselves available to undertake the industry placement that forms part of the training and assessment activity. Students must be fully vaccinated against COVID19 prior to undertaking placement.

Students who are unable to meet the academic or English language criteria may in some cases be eligble to undertake our Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) test. Criteria may change at any time without notice. Additional English language requirements may apply to international applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds wishing to articulate on a visa package into a university programme.

Learn how to provide healthy food for children from 0 to 6. Learn how to identify children in the risk and how can we help them.

Bachelor of early childhood, Bachelor of Teaching, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment.
Fei has been in early childhood field for more than 30 years. During the last 30 years, Fei played different roles within the early childhood field and have taught babies, toddlers, preschoolers, special needs children, refuge children, high school students studying certificate three in child care, and mature students studying certificate 3 and diploma in early childhood education and care in college.

Fei was a director for C&K kindergarten at rural area and a foundation director for kindergarten which was under Queensland government open new 240 Queensland wide kindergartens projects.
