About the Course
Care for children, and help them learn about our world with a Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care. This course teaches students to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.
This course is ideal if you want to become early childhood educators responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in Early Childhood Education and Care services. You will learn how to plan learning using appropriate frameworks, support child development, understand legislation and maintain a safe environment for children, families, and staff.
This course has a practical component that requires 240 hours to be completed in a registered and licensed children’s service over the period of the qualification. Placement must occur for the full duration of the study period.

The campus is just metres from major bus and train terminals, extensive retail & accommodation options.
Nestled on Australia’s Iconic Coastline
Gold Coast Centre is an education precinct for our group based right on the Gold Coast Highway, opposite Australia Fair. The two storey facility is tailor-built for education, with access to a nearby shady park and just steps from the surf.
Extensive Education Facilities
The vintage corner campus has two lecture rooms, 10 tutorial rooms, computer lab, library, and massage lab, plus a number large student breakout spaces. A historical, hand-carved stairwell leads upstairs to multiple secluded student areas, offering an ideal getaway; plus we provide a full academic library for studying or doing research.
Our group’s Hobart Sandy Bay campus is nestled in the University of Tasmania’s sprawling campus on the river Derwent, incorporating 10 large lecture and tutorial rooms, breakout room and lab, each with an expansive view across Hobart.

Adam Ren
Adam holds a Ph.D. degree in early childhood from Macquarie University, Sydney. He teaches Certificate III and Diploma courses of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) and coordinates the students’ work placement. The ECEC courses have enjoyed a good reputation in the childcare industry in Hobart and NIET has become Tasmania’s preferred ECEC training provider.
