About the Course:
This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments. Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery.
Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters. Trainers are made available to provide tutoring and assistance, and NIET also offer interactive webinars and workshops to help facilitate your learning success. Students are required to attend 120 hours of work placement in aged care hour or community care facilities.
This qualification offers the students the opportunity to learn how to work effectively with older persons while creating an empowering environment and implementing a person-centred approach. The students will also learn how to maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery. Additionally, the qualification will assist students in furthering their skill set and work in a more senior role as a team leader or a supervisor at aged care facility or with a respite/community organisation.
